Project Groundwater Northumbria
Clean Energy UK & ReGeneration Earth Exhibitor
Project Groundwater Northumbria (PGN) is transforming how communities understand and respond to groundwater flood risk in the North East. By exploring the hidden dynamics of groundwater and its interaction with legacy mine workings, PGN is advancing research, modelling, and monitoring to better predict and manage flood events. Rooted in the region’s mining heritage, the project fosters innovative partnerships and empowers local communities through engagement and education. As one of 25 pioneering initiatives funded by the Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme (FCRIP), PGN is helping shape a more climate-resilient future.
