Stuart Coles
Professor, WMG, University of Warwick
Stuart Coles is a Professor of Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing and Associate Dean of Research at WMG, University of Warwick, where he leads initiatives on industrial decarbonisation and circular economy strategies. His research focuses on life cycle assessment (LCA), techno‑economic analysis (TEA), and multi‑criteria decision analysis (MCDA) to drive sustainable manufacturing.
He is part of the leadership team for LCA‑RSIN, an Innovate UK‑funded network supporting the use of LCA in regulatory science by linking academia, industry, and government. He advises government on embedding environmental and circular economy principles into policy and practice. Stuart also works closely with industry partners on chemical and mechanical recycling of plastics, including collaborations with Mura Technology and the EPSRC PLASTIC project.
Passionate about embedding circular principles, he champions approaches that enhance productivity, strengthen supply chains, and accelerate clean growth.
