Dr. Juan Ramón Candia is the Climate Innovation Hub Manager at the Priestley Centre for Climate Futures, University of Leeds. Previously, he served as a researcher at the University of York’s School for Business and Society, where he focused on the business models of digital climate start-ups and contributed to projects addressing sustainability challenges in the UK’s industries. With over 20 years of experience across government, industry, and innovation sectors, Dr. Candia has held roles such as Head of Sustainability, consultant, entrepreneur, mentor, and board member. He has also provided strategic advisory services on conservation, water management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development to multinational corporations, NGOs, and government agencies worldwide. His academic credentials include a PhD in Management from the University of York, a MSc in Sustainable Development, a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology.
