PGN are evolving approaches to community engagement and empowering local communities to explore the hidden world of groundwater, understand our mining legacy, and learn how both influence flood risk. The project is undertaking research and development on groundwater, its interactions with shallow mine workings, and the associated flood risks in the North-East.

At the same time, we’re pioneering advanced modelling techniques and developing innovative partnership approaches inspired by our rich mining heritage. We stand as one of twenty-five groundbreaking projects sponsored by FCRIP, paving the way for a more resilient future.
