Dylan Jones

Dylan is an expert in developing the underlying optimisation algorithms within Kinewell’s award winning KLOC software for designing of offshore wind farms. He led the development of KWOTA, which supports turbine placement to maximise energy yield. He has a broad knowledge of computational optimisation methods, enabling accurate definition of optimisation problems, efficient selection of an appropriate algorithm, and a tailored implementation suited to the problem. Dylan was awarded the ‘Rising Star’ award at the Young Energy Professional Awards 2023.

Dylan is an experienced software trainer and has previously worked in consultancy, delivering a financial risk assessment application using machine learning methods to better understand and predict driving factors in financial markets. He holds a Masters in Physics and carried out his dissertation on using clustering and classification machine learning algorithms to de-noise biomedical spectrometry images.
