Anika Mistry
Former Youth Mayor of Bristol, aspiring Aerospace Engineer
My name is Anika, and I am a final year A-level student, and an aspiring aerospace engineer, from Bristol.
Serving previously as the Youth Mayor of Bristol, and now a representative for young people across the country, I have contributed to national conversations surrounding the circular economy, sustainability and the climate crisis, bringing forward the perspectives of young people and their role in shaping long-term change. Speaking at Bristol’s WalkFest, a festival that encourages the usage of sustainable methods of transport, to reduce environmental impact, strengthened my interest in the climate crisis. I also had the honour of attending the King and Queen’s Commonwealth Reception to celebrate the Year of Youth, to address global challenges affecting young people, such as climate change.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to learn more about changes being made to the circular economy in 2026 and in the near future, and understand how this knowledge will support my development as future aerospace engineer.
