Michelle Robinson

Michelle is a Planning Director in Stantec’s Newcastle and Darlington offices, where she has worked for the past five years. She leads on a wide range of projects, including strategic extensions, from planning applications through to public inquiries, local plan representations to examination in public, and the delivery of consents and compulsory purchase support for major utility companies such as national grid. She works across both the public and private sectors, supporting key clients such as Homes England and the Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Prior to joining Stantec, Michelle spent 18 years in local government across authorities in the Tees Valley and the North East. During this time, she played a leading role in the preparation and adoption of the County Durham Plan, one of the first to be delivered within a unitary authority following local government reorganisation. This included the release of Green Belt land within Durham City, enabling the provision of new housing and employment opportunities.
